‘Ukrayna’ya, ABD silahlarını Rus topraklarında kullanma izni’ iddialarına Pentagon’dan yanıt

Pentagon responded to the claims of the permission to use US weapons in Russian territory in Ukraine.

Speaking at a closed press conference, Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh informed the journalists.

“NO DETAILS TO GIVE”

Addressing the questions about the news in the US media over the weekend suggesting that the Biden administration would allow the limited use of long-range American weapons in Russian territory as a new step in Ukraine, Singh responded, “I have no details to give on this matter.”

Although Singh saw the news in question, she refrained from commenting by stating, “I cannot confirm” when pressed for a comment.

According to a report in the American Washington Post (WP) based on two senior US officials, the US administration was reported to have granted permission to use the long-range tactical missile systems (ATACMS) it supplied to Ukraine in a limited manner on Russian territory.

CONSIDERED AN IMPORTANT DECISION

It was claimed that this decision was effective due to the transfer of about 10,000 North Korean soldiers to the Kursk region by Russia to fight against Ukraine.

This step, which Ukraine has long demanded but the previous US administration has not given the green light to until now, was considered as an important decision before the outcome of the elections, where the Biden administration, which lost the elections, was evaluated as a decision of considerable importance compared to the White House term of Donald Trump, who won the elections.

EMPHASIS ON A SMOOTH TRANSITION

Deputy spokesperson Singh also reiterated their readiness for a smooth transition, stating that there have been no contacts at the Pentagon regarding the handover to the new administration to be formed by Trump, who was elected as the new President on November 5.

Regarding a question about the claim that the new defense minister appointed by the Trump administration will dismiss senior military officials, Singh stated that she is not a spokesperson for the Trump era and does not want to comment on hypothetical claims.

Singh used the following statements:

The Defense Minister and the entire army are under the command of the US President. The new minister has the right not to work with those he thinks he has a trust issue. I don’t want to speculate on whether those who don’t want to work with will have their positions changed or be completely dismissed.
